Trying to get through the day with just a little piece of happiness...

I plan to start watching some Christmas movies SOON, but here are the movies we've seen in the last month or so. I'm probably not going to record TV shows here anymore, but we're still working our way through The West Wing and Buffy and Futurama and Northern Exposure, etc.

Watching: The Dead Girl (2006) starring Toni Collette, Rose Byrne, Mary Beth Hurt, Marcia Gay Harden, Kerry Washington and Brittany Murphy. This was very dark (the title is not a metaphor), but I found it very moving and oddly uplifting since there was some redemption in it.

Bringing up Baby (1938) starring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. A classic that Sweetie had never seen. "My leopahd."

The Golden Compass (2007) starring Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig and Dakota Blue Richards. This has been slaughtered by critics and hated by those who read the books because the movie evidently changes a lot of core features. Fantasy is not really my thing, but I did enjoy it. I can understand why readers of the book were disappointed though.

Gram Parsons: Fallen Angel (2006) A documentary about a talented and influential musician who as many others (or so it seems to be many) of the era, perished from drug addiction. I didn't know much about him, but Sweetie is a fan, and I decided I wanted to learn more so we rented this.
