Quick Update

Sorry no hair pictures yet. I am currently between cameras. I can't get my old one to work and since I had my 10th anniversary at my company this year, I was able to get a gift, and I chose the camera. I just haven't gotten the batteries and read the instructions on how to use it yet. I better get in gear with that too because the foliage right now is getting gorgeous, and I have a feeling that this coming weekend we'll be heading into peak. Here's the fall foliage status for my area as of October 11:
Current Northeast Report.

My doctor's visit went well, I didn't let the nurse weigh me, but my cholesterol reading has gone down so my doctor seemed happy about that. We also talked about working out. I told her how I like running on the treadmill because it seems to give me a really good workout, but that it goes better if I take ibuprofen. She said taking ibuprofen wasn't a problem as long as it didn't bother my stomach (it doesn't) and as long as it wasn't more than a few times a week. She also suggested using the elliptical trainer or bike because they would be easier on my joints, and I told her I do use them, but I like the treadmill because it seems to be a harder workout in less time. I also told her that I want to run a 5K (yes, I said it!), and so I have run in order to train for it.

That's it for now. Happy Monday everybody.

The nights have been cool lately, and I'm talking about the temperature. I guess I mean cool the other way too, although the word that actually comes to mind is "lovely." There's something always a bit poignant about the end of August, but I also get a feeling of happy anticipation because the Best Season of the Year is beginning soon. The season of cool temperatures and pretty leaves, apples, pumpkins and Halloween. So I don't really feel too sad.

And you know what else is starting soon? Even sooner than fall. A popular recurring topic here at Miss Rachel's blog: school! I have my first class on September 6. I wrote it in my planner pad. I've sneaked a peak at the syllabus from a previous semester that's posted online and - scary! Lots of work!- but good. It's gonna be good people It's Archival Methods and Services; this is an interesting class No more management theory, no more terrifyingly cryptic technology. This could be the beginning of my new career. The class even includes an internship. I'm going to get out there and begin doing something and making some connections.

Of course, I always have doubts and fears. I'm already thinking: what if it "doesn't work out" in some way? I am sometimes plagued by this nameless, amorphous anxiety which I just need to pretty much ignore and push past. I have to keep going, after all. I just get scared sometimes.

Happy Halloween!

Gave away some candy, ate too much candy, talked to my sister who thanked me for the Halloween postcard I sent to her. Should be studying, but I got into this site,
Strange USA. Great, spooky stuff here.

Watching: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

The
Equinox may not be until next Sunday, but as far as the weather is concerned, it is now autumn in Connecticut. Crisp air, leaves' changing color, pumpkins and chrysanthemums at the supermarket all remind me why this is my favorite of all seasons. I know it's the end of summer, but autumn feels like a beginning to me.
